Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, result-oriented, and execution-focused Regional Sales Manager to lead and drive sales operations across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving regional sales targets, expanding market penetration, strengthening the distribution network, and leading a high-performing sales team.
The role requires strong expertise in distributor management, business development, sales planning, trade marketing, market intelligence, and team leadership. The Regional Sales Manager will be expected to build strong relationships with Super Stockists, Distributors, Wholesalers, Retailers, and key trade partners while ensuring consistent business growth, market coverage, and execution excellence across the assigned territory.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to independently manage the region, develop the sales team, identify growth opportunities, and consistently achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
1. Establishing, maintaining and expanding Super Stockiest, Distributor, Retailer and Wholesalers.
2. Servicing the needs of your existing Super Stockiest, Distributor, Retailer and Wholesalers.
3. Developing sales strategies and setting targets.
4. Maintaining and submitting data in a timely manner as per the company norms.
5. Strengthen relationships with existing channel partners to increase business volumes and customer retention.
6. Identify new business opportunities, markets, and distribution channels to expand market penetration.
7. Monitor market performance, identify growth opportunities, and take corrective actions wherever required.
8. Ensure achievement of regional sales targets within defined timelines.
9. Ensure adequate product availability and market coverage across the assigned territory.
10. Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, billing, secondary sales, and market execution.
11. Resolve distributor and channel partner issues in a timely and professional manner.
12. Conduct regular distributor reviews and joint market visits to improve sales performance.
13. Ensure effective implementation of trade schemes, promotions, and market activations.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
1. Recruit, onboard, train, and develop the regional sales team.
2. Set individual sales targets and performance expectations for team members.
3. Conduct regular market working, coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews.
4. Monitor team productivity, discipline, attendance, reporting quality, and field execution.
5. Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
6. Identify capability gaps and implement development plans for the sales team.
4. Trade Marketing & Market Development
1. Develop and execute regional marketing initiatives to increase sales and brand visibility.
2. Implement trade schemes, promotional campaigns, retailer engagement programs, and consumer activation activities.
3. Monitor competitor activities, pricing, product launches, and promotional strategies.
4. Strengthen product visibility and merchandising across the assigned territory.
5. Identify new market opportunities and recommend business expansion initiatives.
5. Business Planning & Sales Forecasting
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts for the region.
2. Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective action plans where required.
3. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Production, and Commercial teams to ensure timely product availability.
4. Ensure optimum inventory levels across distributors and channel partners.
5. Support demand planning through accurate sales forecasting and market intelligence.
6. Reporting & MIS
1. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and MIS within defined timelines.
2. Prepare reports covering sales performance, stock position, distribution coverage, competitor activity, and market intelligence.
3. Monitor opening stock, closing stock, secondary sales, and channel performance.
4. Present regional business reviews and performance analysis to management.
5. Maintain accurate sales records and documentation.
7. Customer Relationship Management
1. Build strong relationships with key customers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and trade partners.
2. Resolve customer complaints and service-related issues promptly.
3. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive support and relationship management.
4. Represent the company professionally in all customer and trade interactions.
8. CRM Tools
- Manage and update CRM records and sales data on a daily basis.
- Monitor Sales Team performance, targets, achievements, and follow-ups.
- Pull and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports from CRM.
- Track pending activities, follow-ups, and closures with the Sales Team.
- Coordinate with Sales Managers and Sales Executives for required updates.
- Maintain accurate sales MIS and performance trackers.
- Identify gaps, delays, and pending activities and highlight them to the reporting manager.
- Ensure 100% timely and accurate CRM/data updates.
- Handle complete CRM process through phone, email
