Job Description
Summary: WuXi AppTec is expanding its In vitro Immunology team, seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate I to support team projects and experiments in drug development. The role involves performing support functions in in vitro immunology experiments and assays while working under close supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
- After initial training, normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments
- Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel
- Performs support functions in in vitro immunology experiments and assays
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
- May be required to work Holidays and weekends with higher pay
- May be required to work Overtime with higher pay
- Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
- Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
- Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Other duties as assigned
- May be required to assist in other departments
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Biology, molecular biology or life sciences related field
- 0-1 year of lab experience is required
- Demonstrated strong understanding of complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency in immunology, molecular and cell biology
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork driven environment
- Ability to perform routine work following SOPs with minimum supervision
- Deep understanding of immunology, molecular biology, and cell biology and proved hand-on experience in mammalian cell culture
- Good communication skills to work with different equipment vendors and technical support team
- Ability to learn quickly to master the operation and general maintenance of lab and instruments
- Detail-oriented, good at multitasking and ability to work with multiple teams
- Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
- Need to be able to read, write and understand English
- Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions
- Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / Chemicals
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
- Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels
- Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely
- Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
- Ability to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/ often / occasionally
- Clarity of Vision
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions
