Job Description
Summary: Woodbury School of Business is seeking a student intern to support digital experience initiatives for the HCI Talent Office. The role focuses on improving SharePoint sites, employee resource content, onboarding materials, documentation, and internal digital resources through research, content development, and user experience improvements.
Responsibilities:
- SharePoint Website Improvement
- Research employee-facing HR and Talent Office websites from universities, healthcare organizations, and other employers to identify best practices for content organization, navigation, accessibility, and user experience
- Assist in redesigning the HCI Talent Office SharePoint site to improve usability, visual appeal, and ease of navigation
- Help organize information into intuitive categories and recommend improvements to site structure
- Create or source appropriate icons, graphics, and visual elements to improve engagement while maintaining institutional branding
- Employee Resources Hub Enhancement
- Review existing Employee Resources Hub content for organization, clarity, and completeness
- Rebuild and enhance pages using modern SharePoint features, including layouts, images, quick links, and other web parts
- Recommend improvements that make information easier for employees to locate and understand
- Ensure content follows accessibility and readability best practices
- Onboarding Content Development (if time allows)
- Review existing onboarding materials within the Sapling onboarding platform
- Rewrite task instructions to improve clarity, consistency, and engagement
- Create step-by-step guides that incorporate screenshots, callouts, and visual aids
- Help ensure onboarding content is user-friendly for employees with varying levels of technical experience
- Additional Support
- Assist with indexing documents for digital employee files
- Assist with documentation of processes and internal resources
- Proofread and edit written content
- Organize digital files and documentation
- Participate in project planning meetings and provide recommendations for improving the employee experience
Required Qualifications:
- • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, Communications, Technical Writing, UX/User Experience, Digital Media, Organizational Leadership, or a related field at UVU
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
- • Excellent attention to detail
- • Ability to organize large amounts of information into clear, user-friendly formats
- • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- • Experience with SharePoint
- • Familiarity with website design or content management systems
- • Experience creating instructional materials or documentation
- • Basic graphic design experience using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or PowerPoint
- • Interest in user experience (UX), information architecture, or digital communications
- • Experience conducting online research and synthesizing findings into recommendations
