Job Description
Summary: Woodard & Curran is a national engineering, science, and operations firm dedicated to clean water and a safe environment. They are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to manage the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility, focusing on laboratory analysis, record keeping, and process control.
Responsibilities:
- Be part of a team that runs the first CoMag system in the entire world
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and the building and grounds
- Responsible for the operation and general maintenance of equipment at a 1 MGD advanced wastewater treatment facility
- Primary focus will be in laboratory analysis, record keeping, and process control
- Secondary focus is assisting with maintenance projects and general facility and grounds maintenance
- Participate in an 'on call' rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours, including weekends
- Required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Massachusetts Grade IV or higher license, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum of one year of experience in a wastewater treatment facility, operation, and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education
- Must live within a one hour radius of Concord, MA in order to respond to emergency call-outs
- High School or trade school diploma is required, Associate Degree or higher preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the general public
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Familiarity with biological/chemical treatment processes with particular aptitude for laboratory analysis, record keeping, and facility maintenance
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or higher preferred
