Job Description
Summary: Woodard & Curran is a national engineering, science, and operations firm focused on clean water and environmental issues. They are seeking a certified wastewater treatment operator to participate in the daily operations and maintenance of their wastewater treatment facility.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor water and wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary to control their operation
- Monitor remote pump stations with inspections and daily sampling as required
- Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties
- Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintains all necessary records which entails data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report
- Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties
- Participates in the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant/Project Manager
- Assists in the operation of assigned treatment, mechanical and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment
- Monitors and controls assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service to meet budget
- Coordinates to ensure that other facility employees follow established administrative, safety, and operating policies
- Transporting biosolids to the landfill
Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent, or technical/vocational school background
- Valid State of MO Driver's License required
- A Class A CDL is required
- Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow safety procedures
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check and DOT pre-placement physical and DOT drug screen before employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- A valid State of Missouri Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license is preferred, or the ability to obtain a minimum of a Missouri DNR Class D wastewater certification as soon as possible
