Job Description
Summary: Withum is a forward-thinking, technology-driven advisory and accounting firm that empowers clients with innovative tools and solutions. The Investment Banking and Valuation Summer Internship provides hands-on experience in valuation analyses, client communications, and collaboration with various teams while supporting business development needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of valuation analyses for various purposes, including financial reporting, gift & estate tax, investment banking, and advisory services
- Assist in reviewing third-party appraisals for audit support and financial reporting purposes
- Complete data entry of financial statements and tax returns into Excel-based models
- Conduct market, industry, and economic research to support valuation analysis
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to client communications regarding valuation matters
- Collaborate with different teams, including Corporate Value Consulting and Forensic Value Consulting
- Assist in writing reports, letters, and other client deliverables
- Participate in trainings and career insight presentations
- Write articles on practice related matters using information gained during course of internship
- Assist in business development needs
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a 4 or 5-year academic institution pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Business, or a related field
- Outstanding academic record minimum 3.5 GPA required
- Successful completion of a previous internship or co-op in a related field (investment banking, valuation, financial services, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit strong attention to detail, business acumen, and professional writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to excel in client-facing roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest in quantitative and economic analysis, with an understanding of financial statements and tax returns is preferred
- Proven leadership experience and an entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrated through extracurricular activities or work experiences
