Machine Learning Developer Intern at WinCo Foods in Boise, ID

Summary: WinCo Foods is a growing employee-owned supermarket chain, and they are seeking a Machine Learning Developer Intern to gain experience in designing, training, and tuning machine learning models. The intern will participate in data collection, cleaning, and analysis to inform model adjustments and assist in deploying models into production-ready environments. Responsibilities: - Orientation, System Overview, and Job Shadowing - Basic Training, Database and SQL training - Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets, including exploratory data analysis - Design, training, and tuning machine learning models (XGBOOST) - Production code development utilizing Python, PyTorch and deep learning frameworks - Automate model performance evaluation/retraining/deployment - Participate in code reviews and pair programming within Agile teams Required Qualifications: - Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and participating in a Computer Science program - 18 years or older - Currently enrolled in an accredited university Computer Science program having completed Junior year of studies or higher - Understanding of database design and programming concepts/methods - Understanding in handling datasets and capable of contributing to production-level code, utilizing Python, SQL, and deep learning frameworks - Proficient in use of personal computers and Microsoft productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, OneNote) - Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. on a full-time basis Required Skills: Machine Learning, XGBOOST, Python, PyTorch, Deep Learning Frameworks, SQL, Database Design, Data Cleaning, Data Preprocessing, Exploratory Data Analysis, Production-level Code Development, Microsoft Office Tools
