Description
The Fitness Room Attendant provides great customer service and complete support to all members. The Fitness Room Attendant must maintain a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment in the Health and Fitness Room at all times.
REPORTS TO: Fitness Room Supervisor
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time Hourly Non-Exempt
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for all members in the Health and Fitness room
- Provide assistance/guidance to all members in the fitness room
- Develop & maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention every shift to all through a proactive approach
- Instruct members on correct position/body alignment to prevent injuries; provide spotting as necessary.
- Provide orientation on fitness equipment for new members
- Refer members for further training to supervisor
- Report equipment problems plus respond to and report accidents and incidents to supervisor
- Refer problems, complaints, or suggestions from members to supervisor
- Open and close fitness room and possibly the building as scheduled
- Enforce all facility policies and rules
- Clean, disinfect, and sanitize the equipment according to the cleaning plan; clean mirrors, vacuum, and dust as needed
- Launder and fold towels for use in fitness room and locker rooms
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and training sessions mandated by your supervisor
- Maintain accurate time and attendance online and submit in timely manner
- Adhere to WCC Core Competencies and Employee Manual

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age
- Strong customer service skills with excellent oral communication skills to work positively with different populations, in groups and individually
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with some holiday and weekend work possible
- Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions
- Possess basic knowledge of fitness equipment use and strength to spot on weight equipment
- Certifications (we can help provide): (Not limited to but including)
- CPR/AED and First Aid
