Job Description
Summary: Westfield Insurance is a global leader in property and casualty insurance, and they are seeking a Human Resources Intern for a 10-week developmental experience. The intern will work on high-impact projects within the HR department, collaborating with team members and participating in various learning and networking opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Works on a project or projects that align with and contribute to accomplishing the Human Resources team objectives. Projects will provide the opportunity to collaborate within the HR department as well as with team members across other departments
- Completes assigned tasks and projects efficiently and effectively, following instructions and guidelines provided by supervisors or mentors
- Conducts research, gathers data, and analyzes information relevant to the internship focus or assigned projects
- Identifies and resolves issues or challenges that arise during the internship, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions
- Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to effectively communicate progress, challenges, and ideas, and actively participates in team meetings or discussions
- Participates in on the job learning, workshops, networking, and training programs, to enhance knowledge and skills related to the field or industry of the internship. Participates in enterprise-wide summer internship program events
- Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic by being reliable, responsible, and maintaining a positive attitude towards assigned responsibilities. Develops business skills in communication and shadowing other professionals
- Seeks feedback from supervisors or mentors, actively seeking opportunities for improvement, and applying learning to enhance performance throughout the internship
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience
- Either actively enrolled in an academic institution in pursuit of a degree in a relevant course of study or is a recent college graduate, typically having attained a degree within the past 12 months
