Position Overview
The Ticket Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the NWSS Box Offices for the National Western Stock Show and other events promoted by the Western Stock Show Association throughout the year. The position also includes the supervision of part-time box office staff, which is upwards of 100 people.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, thrives in a fast-paced work environment, be computer-savvy, and help build a strong team environment.
Reports to: Senior Director, Ticket Operations and Manager of Ticket Operations
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day functionality of the electronic ticketing system, ensuring all events are accurately built, priced and maintained.
- Generates reports and analyzes ticketing data to support operational efficiency and sales performance
- Provides superior customer service when representing the company in any public situation, to all who enter our doors, when talking on the telephone, or when communicating through emails. Is the ultimate team player and works with other departments within the company to achieve organizational goals.
- Manages and supervises Box Office staff (up to 100 part-time employees during Stock Show) and volunteers, ensuring exceptional customer service standards and that all tasks are being handled in a timely, efficient manner.
- Assists in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating part-time staff and volunteers
- Coordinates staffing schedules, tracks availability, and makes certain we have proper coverage for all events
- Prepares all necessary daily box office sales items such as seller logins, cash banks, daily seller settlement sheets, and reconciliation reports for accounting.
- Assists with Group Sales ticket operation, primarily handling community tickets, donations, and other group sales duties as assigned.
- Collaborates with the marketing department to review that ticketing web pages are accurate and display correct pricing, and that the overall user experience is a pleasant one.
- Supports signage creation and updates in and around the campus for the National Western Stock Show and any other events promoted by the Western Stock Show Association.
- Serves as a respected National Western representative with outside printing companies when it comes to signage, flyers, or any other promotional materials.
- Along with the Senior Director and Manager of Ticket Operations, ensures the department is kept safe and secure.
- Assesses office needs and assists with supply ordering, purchase order submissions, and budget tracking to maintain a fully functional box office.
- Completes general office/administrative duties as needed.

Requirements
Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Must have experience working with people and teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office suite products, etc., with any ticketing software experience being preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical ability to develop and recommend/implement improvements.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work effectively under pressure, and handle competing priorities with a team and independently.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Accounting and cash handling/balancing experience preferred.
Physical Demands
National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, rain, and on varied surfaces. Our employees must be able to work indoors and outdoors with regular and prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, must be comfortable working at heights, and be able to work around moving machinery and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 25 pounds
Scheduling Requirements
While this position will have some set hours, schedules are likely to change on a regular basis based on the needs of upcoming shows. Early mornings, late nights, and weekends are all to be expected. Candidates must have open availability and be willing to work at various hours to complete the primary functions of this role. Like almost all NWSS team members, this position will need to be on-site every day during Stock Show, typically for 12-16 hours at a time.
Pay Range & Benefits
- This is a full-time salaried/exempt position.
- Compensation for this position will start at $62,500 annually, depending on experience.
