Talent Pool | Repair Engineer – M/F/X at WeMaintain · London

🌍 Who are we?

Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining on-the-ground expertise with technology and data.

Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and efficient when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and clear visibility over the equipment they look after.

Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, maintaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.

The way we work is guided by three core values:

• Care: treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and responsibility
• Grit: seeing things through with determination, perseverance and high standards
• Uniqueness: embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things

Our ambition is to raise the standards of building maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.

👀 Why are we building this Talent Pool?

This is not an advertisement for a currently open vacancy.

As WeMaintain continues to develop its UK operations, we're keen to connect with experienced Lift Repair Engineers who might be interested in joining us in the future.

Rather than waiting until a position becomes available, we'd like to get to know professionals who enjoy tackling complex technical challenges, take pride in their workmanship and are committed to delivering safe, reliable repairs.

By joining our Talent Pool, you'll have the opportunity to hear about future roles that could match your technical expertise, preferred location and career aspirations.

When a relevant position becomes available, we may get in touch with the key details, including location, responsibilities, working arrangements and salary.

The idea? Let's get to know each other today, so we can explore working together when the right opportunity comes along.

🔎 The Repair Engineer role at WeMaintain

As a Repair Engineer, you'll play an essential role in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of the lifts we look after.

When equipment develops complex faults or requires more extensive repair work, your technical expertise will help identify the right solutions and return lifts to safe, reliable operation.

Depending on the opportunity, your responsibilities could include:

• Carrying out complex mechanical and electrical repairs, including the replacement and adjustment of major lift components
• Diagnosing technical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective, long-term repair solutions
• Planning and carrying out repair work safely, efficiently and in line with relevant technical standards
• Testing, adjusting and recommissioning equipment following repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Working closely with Service Engineers, technical specialists and Operations teams to coordinate interventions and resolve challenging issues
• Maintaining accurate technical records and communicating clearly with customers about work carried out

The role involves regular site visits and hands-on technical work, often requiring you to adapt to different lift systems, manufacturers and site conditions.

The exact responsibilities, geographical coverage and working arrangements will depend on the opportunity available.

🔧 What makes this role different at WeMaintain?

At WeMaintain, we believe skilled engineers should have the autonomy, tools and support they need to do their best work.

Here's what makes our approach different:

• Real technical ownership: take responsibility for complex repairs, use your expertise to identify solutions and make a genuine difference to equipment reliability
• A varied technical environment: work across different lift systems and manufacturers, developing your knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Technology that supports you: benefit from digital tools and operational data that help improve diagnostics, planning and technical follow-up
• A collaborative culture: work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists who value knowledge-sharing, quality and continuous improvement

We're looking for engineers who enjoy solving difficult problems, take pride in getting things right and understand that quality repairs make a real difference to customers and building users.

👑 Who are we looking for?

We'd love to connect with experienced Lift Engineers who have strong technical knowledge, excellent fault-finding skills and a genuine interest in complex repair work.

The essentials

• Solid experience in lift engineering, particularly mechanical and electrical repairs
• A recognised qualification in Lift Engineering, ideally NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Experience carrying out component replacements, adjustments and technical interventions on lift systems
• The ability to work independently, organise your work and maintain high standards of safety and quality
• A proactive, reliable approach and good communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience working across multiple lift manufacturers and different equipment types
• Knowledge of major lift repairs, component upgrades or modernisation-related works
• Familiarity with digital diagnostic tools and connected equipment
• Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced engineers

These would certainly be advantages, but they're not all essential. If you have strong lift engineering experience and are looking to develop further in repairs, we'd still encourage you to apply.

🎁 What do we offer?

The exact package will depend on the opportunity available, but here's what future Repair Engineer positions at WeMaintain UK may offer:

• An indicative base salary of £52,000 to £62,000 gross per annum, based on previous London opportunities and depending on experience, qualifications and location
• A hands-on technical role with genuine autonomy and responsibility
• The opportunity to work on complex repairs across different lift systems and manufacturers
• The tools, equipment and technical support needed to carry out your work effectively
• A supportive team and a culture built on trust, transparency and respect
• Opportunities for technical development, professional growth and internal mobility
• A workplace pension scheme and annual leave in line with the applicable employment package

The exact salary, location, working hours, travel requirements and benefits will be clearly communicated when a relevant opportunity becomes available.
