Senior Software Engineer AI/Gen AI
Location: ISELIN, NJ
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a senior software engineer to be part of Customer Impact Management Technologies (CIMT) , TCOO organization. The Customer Impact Management Technology team is driving high-priority initiatives focused on Generative AI and AI/ML development and delivery. These efforts are central to enabling meaningful business outcomes, delivering measurable ROI, and enhancing operational performance across our organization.
We are looking for a candidate who can step into a critical role supporting these initiatives—particularly as we expand our roadmap of GenAI-powered solutions, including intelligent agents and automation capabilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that directly impact operations and business efficiency.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of Gen AI frameworks and ML libraries and frameworks like: TensorFlow, PyTorch with hands on experience in building or training models, tuning hyperparameters
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
Proficiency in Python, Java Script, AJAX, jQuery, Angular/React
Knowledge of Gen AI frameworks (like: LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK)
Experience with ML libraries and frameworks like: TensorFlow, PyTorch. Hands on experience in building or training models, tuning hyperparameters.
Experience in Generative AI technologies like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) – end-to-end pipelines (Vector DBs, chunking, embedding, retrieval, context injection) to ground LLM responses on enterprise.
Deep understanding of microservice based distributed architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure & GCP), and infrastructure-as-code.
Strong background in Data Science and Analysis: Ability to process, clean and analyze data using statistical techniques to derive actionable insights. Knowledge of data processing tools like Hadoop, Spark
Ability to deal in solving complex problems with ambiguous requirements, spot emerging tech trends and drive Proof of concepts or pilot solutions
Well versed in Agile development strategies and ceremonies, Test Driven Development & DevOps practices.
Experience in leveraging Rest/SOAP Web-APIs for integrations.
Experience in using enterprise-wide tooling for CICD: Harness, Jenkins.
Expertise in enterprise tools like: Ansible & observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog), Incident Management tools like Service Now.
Self-motivated with genuine curiosity to stay ahead of the curve by engaging in continuous learning through courses, certifications and research papers.
Experience provisioning resources in GCP and Azure using Terraform (IaC), including secrets integration patterns with HashiCorp Vault
Strong Kubernetes knowledge (preferably GKE) and experience hosting applications on Kubernetes platforms (GKE/OCP or similar)
Python experience building automation, platform services, and tooling to support provisioning, operations, and developer workflows
Establishing and maintaining coding standards and best practices.
Making informed decisions about technologies, programming languages, and frameworks to use.
Lead and influence the architectural and implementation decisions.
Strong communication skills to foster effective communication at all levels
Leading, mentoring and coaching junior members of the team
Fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback
Assisting with task planning estimations (actively participate in Planning and grooming sessions)
Writing, reviewing, and optimizing code keeping in mind risk/compliance & NFR facets
Oversee design, development, testing and deployment of software.
Proactively identifying and addressing technical blockers and system improvements
Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation
Job Expectations:
Ability to work additional hours as needed
Ability to support on call beyond normal working hours
This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$100,000.00 - $196,000.00
