Trainee – Test Engineer

As a Trainee-Test Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and performance of our core product. You will learn and start building expertise in identifying defects, validating features against business requirements, ensuring zero defect escapes, and maintaining a high standard of quality before product releases to our customers.

• Review and analyse product requirements, specifications, and design documents to understand product features and technical details.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive manual test cases and test data that ensure full functional coverage.
• Participate in planning and grooming sessions, offering input on feasibility, testability, and potential risks.
• Execute functional, system, integration, regression, and sanity tests manually.
• Identify, document, and accurately report defects, including steps to reproduce, severity, and priority, using issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Work closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process, test automation frameworks, and overall testing methodologies.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities as needed.
• Assist in basic performance, load, or security testing, or exploratory testing on new features as needed.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation scripts (e.g., using Selenium, Playwright) as needed.
• Ensure optimal utilization of your bandwidth, avoid escalations of defects, and delay product releases.
• Demonstrate the right degree of flexibility & adaptability to a growing and dynamic business environment.
• Develop good analytical and problem-solving skills.
