Job Description
Summary: Western Digital is a company dedicated to powering global innovation through technology. As a Preamp Characterization Intern, you will evaluate next-generation analog front-end circuits, collaborating with engineers to measure and analyze performance in real operating conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Characterize next-generation analog front-end circuits using laboratory measurement tools
- Perform electrical measurements such as gain, noise, bandwidth, and linearity
- Develop scripts to automate test setups and collect measurement data
- Analyze results to identify performance trends and anomalies
- Partner with design engineers to help debug circuit behavior and improve performance
- Document results and present insights to engineering teams
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case in order to employ you now or at any point in the future
- Coursework in Analog Circuits, RF Circuits, or Electronic Devices
- Experience using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, or spectrum analyzers
- Programming experience in Python or MATLAB
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with network analyzers or RF measurement techniques
- Familiarity with low-noise amplifiers (LNA) or analog front-end circuits
- Experience with test automation or measurement scripting
- Exposure to signal integrity or high-speed analog systems
