Job Description
As a Port Agency Operator at Waypoint Port Services Korea Limited, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless, efficient, and high-quality delivery of port agency and husbandry services through contracted sub-agents. The role is critical in safeguarding the interests of vessel owners, operators, masters, and crew, while optimizing turnaround time, cost control, and service quality during each port call.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-plan vessel arrivals and all activities required for each port call
- Assign vessels to contracted sub-agents and confirm readiness prior to arrival
- Ensure all pre-arrival arrangements are completed accurately and on time
- Supervise port and husbandry activities during the vessel’s stay to ensure smooth execution
- Monitor and record all services performed to ensure accurate final disbursement accounting
- Oversee and support effective communication between sub-agents and vessel principals
- Provide operational support and coordination to sub-agents as required
- Follow up on statements of account, disbursements, and outstanding funds related to assigned vessels
- Drive consistent service quality and performance from sub-agents
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with sub-agents
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and increased revenue generation
- Prepare regular activity updates reflecting vessel movements and operational performance
Qualifications & Experience
- Fluency in English and the local language, both written and spoken
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the shipping, port agency, or maritime services industry is preferred
- Valid driving license and clean police conduct record
- Availability to work outside standard office hours when operationally required
