Job Description
Summary: Watco is a company focused on keeping the world's supply chain moving through its various operations. The Procurement Intern position offers a valuable learning experience for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience and develop skills within a professional setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and support assigned teams or departments with various tasks and projects, according to Indeed, including those closely related to their area of study
- Participate in daily operations and learn about the company's workflows and procedures
- Conduct research, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports or presentations as needed
- Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, organizing documents, and managing databases
- Attend meetings, workshops, and other relevant events to gain insights and observe professional interactions
- Collaborate with team members, contribute ideas, and actively participate in discussions
- Complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes and according to project plans and schedules
- Maintain professionalism, uphold company policies, and adhere to ethical standards
- Take initiative to learn, ask questions, and seek feedback to enhance skills and performance
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to support team members and suppliers across the Watco network
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen closely and interpret business needs and risk; ability to create timely, accurate, and succinct written communications; ability to share information and ideas with others
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and enterprise content/records management systems, electronic records handling, imaging, and emerging technologies
- Must be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent
