Your New Role:
The Remote TechnicalSpecialistprovides coordination, oversight,communication,and documentation necessary toestablishand maintain consistency in our Live Sports and Entertainment Operations. This position will alsomaintaincollaborative relationships between WBD Techwood Studios Technical Operations and Remote Technical Operations teams, BEST Engineering and our Sports and Entertainment partners.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to make decisions under pressure, delegate tasks effectively, and communicate efficiently in a fast-paced environment to resolve any issues that arise. This position willmaintaina technical monitoring station during live shows.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Technical Planning and Coordination:
Manage and communicate the technical details of all MFP productions.
Resolve potential production issues and resource conflicts in advance of production.
Monitorand manageincoming/outgoing video for all live MFP productions.
Participate inpreand post-show technicalmeetingsas necessary.
Prepare and distribute documentation ofeventdetailsto relevant stakeholders.
Studios On-Site Event Support:
Assist withMFP productionsetup,fax,and ensure production plans are followed.
QC (Quality Control) video and audio signals for air.
Ensure incoming/outgoing routing is configured and routed accordingly.
Function asthe audio and video liaison between site and PCR (Production Control Room) operations.
Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate toappropriate teamsto helpresolve.
Work with onsite operators to fax off site equipment.
Manage networkVLAN’s toproduction equipment.
Communication and Documentation:
Provide timely,high-levelcommunication of technical issues thatimpact liveproductions.
Collaborate with Studio and Remote Technical Operations,Live Production Engineering, and Operations to ensure smooth technical set up and execution forproductions.
Strategic Technology Evaluation:
Collaborate withProduction, Technical Operations, and Engineering to evaluate anddeterminethe strategic use of future technology used in the Remote Operations Center and areas it touches.
Assesstechnical operations methods and recommend changes where necessary.
Qualifications & Experiences:
BS/BA degreepreferred.
Minimum of 4 years of network-level broadcast production experience for livegame, live remote, and/or live studio productions.
Proficiencyin technical planning and documentation for live sports, news, or entertainment productions.
Experience inmanaging and monitoring video and audio signals for live events.
Proficient in video and audio router operations.
Knowledge of current industry audio and video standards.
Familiarity with Remote Operations, Production Control Room operations, and technical liaison roles.
Ability to lead technical meetings and resolve issues proactively.
Must be able to work independently,andwith small and large teams.
Mustbe flexible and ableto work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.
Not Required but preferred experience:
TD, A1, Engineering or Technical Manager experience.
Ability to handle the pressures of live programming and limited time constraints.
Open to travel ifrequired.
