Role Summary
The (USA) Software Engineer III will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. This position involves analyzing requirements, coding with adherence to standards, and implementing automated testing and telemetry features. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and continuous improvement of software quality. The engineer will also troubleshoot defects, support deployment processes, and contribute to the evolution of development practices—ensuring high availability, security, and performance across platforms.

As a member of the Replenishment team, you will be responsible for building and supporting high-impact, mission-critical systems for the world’s largest retailer. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing code changes required for special business requirements. You’ll work with many cross-functional teams to handle monitoring issues and troubleshoot business and production issues.You’ll be able to say that you work for the world’s largest retailer and contribute to the development of best-in-class methodologies that impact perception and drastically change business as we know it.
About the Team
Our team partners closely with Walmart U.S. stores and eCommerce to enhance customer experience through technological innovation. We support a broad product range, including groceries, entertainment, sporting goods, and crafts, available online and in-store.
The team focuses on improving customer service, merchant tools, data science, and personalized search. By collaborating across functions, we deliver solutions that empower stores, merchants, and associates to meet evolving business needs efficiently.
This role contributes to developing and maintaining systems that support Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.What You’ll Do
- Solve dynamic retail supply chain problems with passion and engineering expertise.
- Handle large data sets and design/test code changes for special business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Think beyond the status quo and provide insights for better retail supply chain management.
- Empower team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation and best-in-class methodologies.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
- Experience with cloud application development, including scalable, data-driven, and message-oriented architecture.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., BigQuery, Cassandra).
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow).
- Experience with GCP cloud services (e.g., GCS, Dataproc).
- Experience with stream-processing systems (e.g., Spark Streaming, Storm).
- Experience with code repositories and version control practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
- Automated deployment experience (plus).
- Experience building distributed systems using Spark, big data technologies, Airflow, Kafka (or other messaging services), cloud platforms (GCP, Azure), SQL/NoSQL databases, and caching solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
