Job Description
Summary: Walleye Capital is a $16 billion+ multi-strategy investment firm headquartered in New York City, specializing in Volatility, Fundamental Equities, and Quant strategies. The Fundamental Volatility Analyst will utilize fundamental and quantitative analysis to support portfolio managers and traders, identifying corporate events and driving trading decisions through disciplined research and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep fundamental understanding across a wide range of sectors, industries, and companies
- Identify, research, build and manage a large dataset of events
- Identify market mispricings via fundamental analysis and collaborate with traders to monetize your analysis
- Conduct scenario analysis and forecast price distributions for various stock-moving events
- Utilize our proprietary technology stack to build analytical tools and fundamental signals
- Provide real-time analysis on market-moving news
- Identify data sources and build datasets to drive trade ideas
- Take initiative to continuously develop your knowledge and skillset to find ways to add value to the team and drive alpha
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience or interest in conducting fundamental analysis, performing stock valuation, and identifying catalysts and risks in an equity investment
- Demonstrated understanding of options greeks and familiarity with volatility trading
- A desire to work in a fast-paced trading environment (ideally some familiarity with trading and derivatives)
- Intermediate programming experience with languages such as Java, SQL, Python
- Strong writing and mathematical skills
- Strong primary research and financial analysis skills
- Effective communication skills
- Self-starter, fast learner, extreme detail, resourceful, intuitive, analytical, and capable of dealing with uncertainty
- Familiarity with any of the following: event-driven strategies, credit analysis, litigation, government policy, corporate actions, special situations, activist investing, etc
