Job Description
Summary: Walden Security is a dynamic and fast-growing security company, and they are seeking a Human Resources Intern to assist the Human Resources Department with various projects. The intern will help with employee benefits, recruiting, onboarding, and record maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with employee benefits issues related to plan renewal and open enrollment, benefits enrollment and termination, auditing employee benefits data, and the customer service aspect of benefits oversight
- Steps in the recruiting and hiring process, including:
- Posting job openings
- Reviewing resumes
- Conducting telephone and in-person interviews
- Making job offers
Required Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using the English language
- Ability to write reports, internal business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
- To perform this job successfully, the HR Intern should possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Candidate will possess a positive attitude with strong creative ability
- Strong written and verbal skills are required
- Position requires reliable transportation to work every day
- Ability to work in a team environment and to help identify and solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships with other employees, management and others outside of the company
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers and to ensure compliance with fair employment practices and perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely, courteous and professional manner
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
