Editorial Intern (P/T, Paid) at VIZ Media in San Francisco, CA

Summary: VIZ Media, the world leader in English-language manga, is seeking an Editorial Intern to join their dedicated team of storytellers and artists. The Editorial Intern will assist in editing and producing graphic novels and tradebooks, engaging in tasks such as copyediting, editorial research, and providing general support to the Editorial Department. Responsibilities: - Copyedit manga proofs and scripts as a second reader - Conduct assigned editorial research - Create series style guides - Check printed books - Perform data entry and copying - Assist with packaging and shipping - Provide general Editorial support, including: creating PDFs, photocopying, filing, etc - Create articles and reviews for Shonen Jump - In addition to these responsibilities, perform other activities as assigned Required Qualifications: - Strong command of English grammar and spelling (proofing/copy editing skills preferred) - Experience/Interest in media publishing, comics industry, and writing - Computer literacy (Mac systems preferred).
