Job Description
Summary: Vistra Corp. is a global leader in the energy sector, and they are seeking an intern for their Pricing and Offer Strategy team. The intern will support the development and optimization of product pricing strategies using AI-driven tools and financial modeling, gaining hands-on experience in competitive retail energy markets.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Marketing, Product, and Finance) to support pricing initiatives and go-to-market strategies
- Leverage in-house AI tools to improve pricing workflows, automate repetitive processes, and accelerate speed-to-market
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to streamline pricing, reporting, and offer deployment
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate pricing performance and recommendations to leadership
- Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, and regulatory impacts to inform strategy adjustments
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and decision frameworks to support consistency and scalability
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into business insights
- Experience or coursework in data analysis, statistics, or financial modeling
- Skilled in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (required), SQL/Python (required)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a high level of intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
- Interest in applying AI tools to real-world business problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, automation tools, or prompt engineering is a strong plus
- Tableau (preferred)
- Familiarity with pricing, retail energy markets, or regulated industries is a plus but not required
