Department: Marketing

Reports to: Senior Marketing Coordinator
Location: Tatu City, Kiambu

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

The Social Media Manager & Content Creator is the driving force behind all Vision Plus social media content. They also engage authentically with the audience and escalate sensitive or high-impact issues to the Marketing Coordinator or leadership.

This is the right role for someone with energy, creativity and a genuine passion for social media and people culture. You should be quick to try new formats and trends and disciplined enough to keep multiple platforms posting consistently. You will own the Vision Plus voice online, from day one.

Organization Reporting Structure:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Strategy, Planning & Publishing (20%)

· Own and develop the Vision Plus social content strategy, in alignment with the broader Marketing strategy and brand guidelines: define the content pillars, the content mix (e.g. product, education, entertainment, promotion and community content) and which content types and formats work best on each platform.

· Review and refresh the social content strategy at least quarterly, using performance data, audience insights and trends, and agree changes with the Senior Marketing Coordinator.

· Use the social content strategy to build monthly content calendars that balance the agreed pillars and content mix across platforms, covering campaigns, product launches, promotions and seasonal moments.

· Create and publish content week on week across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube, including YouTube Shorts and Reels.

· Schedule and post all approved content consistently using scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok, Zoho Social, Buffer or equivalent), with the correct format, caption, hashtags and tags for each platform.

· Confirm that all scheduled posts have published correctly, and fix or escalate any failed posts immediately.

2. Content Creation & Video Editing (30%)

· Shoot and edit short-form social video using CapCut or similar tools, building quick, engaging content for social platforms rather than complex video production.

· Tailor creative formats and content styles to what drives engagement on each platform. What works on Instagram does not automatically work on TikTok, X or LinkedIn.

· Write strong captions, hooks and calls to action that drive clicks, comments, shares and sales.

· Create simple graphics and adapt brand templates where needed (Canva or similar).

· Use AI tools to speed up ideas, scripting and content production while keeping the Vision Plus brand voice and quality standards.

3. Brand & Creative Direction (10%)

· Apply the Vision Plus brand guidelines consistently in all content, turning them into compelling, on-brand posts.

· Put entertainment value and audience engagement first, creating content that resonates with followers and encourages interaction.

· Stay current with social media trends, trending audio, cultural moments and emerging formats to keep content fresh, relevant and original.

4. Testing, Analytics & Optimisation (15%)

· Build a culture of experimentation by regularly testing content types, posting times, captions, hooks, thumbnails and formats.

· Track content performance on every platform, including reach, engagement rate, video views, watch time, follower growth and link clicks.

· Analyse what works and what doesn't, and act on the insights quickly.

· Prepare weekly and monthly social performance reports with clear insights and recommended next actions for the Marketing Coordinator.

· Recommend top-performing organic posts for boosting and advise on the creative formats that work best for paid social. Paid media planning and execution sit with the Marketing Coordinator and Marketing Executive; this role feeds them content insights and recommendations.

5. Community Engagement & Escalation (10%)

· Respond to comments and audience interactions on social content in an engaging, authentic way that builds a positive community atmosphere.

· Work alongside the Customer Experience team, which owns community management and customer queries, by passing customer issues to them promptly.

· Recognize when comments or situations are sensitive, high-impact or a potential crisis, and escalate them immediately to the Marketing Coordinator or leadership.

6.Influencer & Creator Coordination (10%)

· Coordinate with influencers and content creators on collaborations, working with the Marketing Coordinator.

· Review all influencer and creator content before it is published, and give guidance and feedback so it aligns with brand strategy, campaign objectives and brand guidelines.

· Monitor the performance of influencer content and share learnings for future collaborations.

7. Strategy Alignment & Market Monitoring (5%)

· Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator to align content with campaigns, product launches and business priorities.

· Monitor competitor social media activity and industry trends and flag opportunities, notable campaigns and new formats to the team.
