Job Description
Summary: Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. is a Fortune 1,000 Company that manufactures a large portfolio of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components. They are seeking an Associate Engineer to provide support to manufacturing teams and engineer products from start to finish, primarily focusing on design responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop magnetics designs (custom transformers, inductors, and coils) primarily for use in switch-mode power supplies
- Engineering collaboration with leaders in the medical, aerospace, military, industrial and automotive industries to design and develop custom magnetic components
- Providing technical leadership in the areas of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and safety agency requirements to ensure that quality, high reliability magnetics components are built and shipped to our customers
- Participation in design reviews including leading the DFMEA process
- Coordination of prototype builds and design verification including planning, developing, and implementing experimental test plans and evaluating engineering test results
Required Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related technical degree
- The ability to travel is required (up to 10% - 15%)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work or school experience in the area of transformer and inductor design and/or switch-mode power supply design
- Experience using electrical test equipment (impedance analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.)
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills essential
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software
- Experience with finite element analysis software (Ansys or others)
- Experience with PCB design software (Altium or others)
