Summary: Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. is a Fortune 1,000 Company that manufactures a large portfolio of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components. They are seeking an Associate Engineer to provide support to manufacturing teams and engineer products from start to finish, primarily focusing on design responsibilities. Responsibilities: - Develop magnetics designs (custom transformers, inductors, and coils) primarily for use in switch-mode power supplies - Engineering collaboration with leaders in the medical, aerospace, military, industrial and automotive industries to design and develop custom magnetic components - Providing technical leadership in the areas of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and safety agency requirements to ensure that quality, high reliability magnetics components are built and shipped to our customers - Participation in design reviews including leading the DFMEA process - Coordination of prototype builds and design verification including planning, developing, and implementing experimental test plans and evaluating engineering test results Required Qualifications: - BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related technical degree - The ability to travel is required (up to 10% - 15%) Preferred Qualifications: - Work or school experience in the area of transformer and inductor design and/or switch-mode power supply design - Experience using electrical test equipment (impedance analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.) - Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills - Strong computer skills essential - Experience in a manufacturing environment - Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software - Experience with finite element analysis software (Ansys or others) - Experience with PCB design software (Altium or others) Required Skills: Electrical Engineering, Transformer Design, Switch-mode Power Supply Design Important Skills: Electrical Test Equipment, 2D/3D CAD Software, Finite Element Analysis, PCB Design Software Benefits: Medical coverage with Independence Blue Cross, Prescription coverage with CVS / Caremark, Dental and Vision coverage featuring Basic and Buy Up options, 401(k) Retirement Savings plan with pre-tax (traditional) and after-tax (Roth) options, Health and Wellness Program with incentives, Health Savings Account with employer contributions for some plans, Dependent Care Reimbursement Account and Medical FSA plans are available, Company paid Life / ADD Insurance – 2 x’s base annual salary (subject to plan limits), Company paid Short Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance, Paid Time Off & Sick time, Employee Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement
