Job Description
Summary: VIRTEX is a company focused on developing process systems for manufacturing and engineering services. They are seeking a Process Engineer Intern to create and maintain work instructions, support manufacturing processes, and assist in continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
- Read, analyze, and interpret production and quality documents, drawings, and related industry materials to create working instructions
- Analyzing Information, Reporting Research Results, Documentation Skills, ability to settle process related customer issues
- Maintain highest quality through continuous process improvement and lean activities
- Support manufacturing by resolving engineering, equipment, process, and component issues
- Perform all process engineering functions associated with NPI, ECO and print release, including requirements and process sheets
- Participate in prototype and first article assembly. Provide feedback to teams on design for manufacturing
- Lead, assist and train assemblers in manufacturing processes
- Perform time studies on new and existing operations
- Coordinate and conduct process engineering service activities with customers and manufacturing
- Flexibility, as work priority could change during the day
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Experience with SMT First Articles
- Experience in SMT/Through Hole circuit board assembly as well as box build assembly
- Experience working with CAD data, CircuitCAM software, Factory Logix
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong social skills
- Basic PC skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production and quality documents, drawings, and related industry materials to create working instructions
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community
- Interpersonal skills, working with other engineers and managers
- Submit accurate and timely reports documenting activities to customers or management
- Must have an ability to sit for long periods in meetings and challenging work environment
- Must be able to walk for long distances throughout the production and office areas
