1. Patient Preparation & Care

• Patient Intake: Greeting patients, verifying identities, explaining the procedure to ease anxiety, and taking a relevant medical history.
• Measurement & Placement: Measuring the patient's head using the international 10-20 system to accurately place and secure recording electrodes using specialized pastes or gels.
• Safety Monitoring: Monitoring patients closely during procedures, especially during activated procedures like hyperventilation, photic stimulation, or sleep deprivation, and reacting quickly if a patient experiences a seizure.

2. Clinical Testing & Technical Operations

• EEG (Electroencephalogram): Recording electrical brain activity to help diagnose epilepsy, sleep disorders, and brain injuries.
• NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies): Administering mild electrical impulses to evaluate nerve damage or neuromuscular diseases (often alongside a Neurologist performing an EMG).
• EP (Evoked Potentials): Measuring the brain's response to sensory stimuli (visual, auditory, or somatosensory).
• Artifact Elimination: Recognizing and correcting technical artifacts (e.g., muscle tension, sweating, or loose electrodes) to ensure clean, accurate data tracking.

3. Data Interpretation & Maintenance

• Data Documentation: Writing detailed technical summaries, noting any patient movements, clinical symptoms, or seizures that occurred during the recording.
• Preliminary Review: Highlighting abnormal waveforms or critical findings for the reviewing Neurologist.
• Equipment Care: Cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting neurodiagnostic machinery, ensuring all sterilization protocols are strictly followed.
