Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Housekeeping - opening the house, assigning rooms, assigning floors to Housemen, ensuring that all rooms are inspected, VIPs are prepared, and the house is closed daily.
Responsibilities
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Housekeeping - opening the house, assigning rooms, assigning floors to Housemen, ensuring that all rooms are inspected, VIPs are prepared, and the house is closed daily.
General Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure that appropriate safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure employees are in compliance with appropriate regulations, practices and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate the department’s financial positioning, such as budgets, cost control, labor expense.
- Schedule employees in accordance with the forecasted occupancy.
- Knowledgeable of the latest industry equipment, technology, and techniques.
- Conduct continual inspections to determine hotel’s overall level of cleanliness and perform follow-up.
- Responsible for all guest’s requests and complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure guest’s satisfaction.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for all linens, cleaning supplies, customer room amenities, restroom supplies, laundry supplies, machines, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer relations, communication, presentation and organization skills
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter
- Weekends and Holidays may be required as business needs warrant
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time up to four (4) hours.
