Summary: VIAVI Solutions is a global provider of network test, monitoring and assurance solutions. They are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Intern to gain practical experience in designing, developing, and testing hardware and software components for their products. Responsibilities: - Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of hardware and/or software components for Viavi products - Conduct research and gather technical information to support ongoing projects and new product initiatives - Participate in debugging and troubleshooting efforts, identifying root causes of issues and proposing solutions - Contribute to documentation efforts, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals - Perform data analysis and generate reports to support engineering decisions and project progress - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and manufacturing - Learn and apply industry best practices, tools, and methodologies in engineering - Present findings and project updates to mentors and team members Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field - Solid foundational understanding of engineering principles relevant to their field of study (e.g., circuit design, programming languages, data structures, networking concepts) - Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Python, Java) is highly desirable - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team - Prior project experience (academic or extracurricular) demonstrating engineering aptitude is a plus - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Required Skills: Engineering principles, Circuit design, Programming languages, Data structures, Networking concepts, C++, Python, Java, Analytical skills
