Job Description
Summary: Viatris is a healthcare company that empowers people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life. The Corporate Development Intern will assist in driving the company’s inorganic growth strategy and gain exposure to pharmaceutical strategic transactions and corporate strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in compiling target profiles for opportunity screening by gathering data on company portfolios, pipelines, financial metrics, and key business drivers
- Shadow Corporate Development team on deal processes, gaining exposure to due diligence, strategic decision-making, and deal execution dynamics
- Conduct market research and competitive analyses to support strategic assessments
- Support creation of executive-level presentations to Viatris senior leadership and Board of Directors
- Help maintain deal tracking systems and create summary reports of deal activity
- Identify opportunities and strategies to automate or integrate AI into existing Corporate Development workflows, such as landscape analyses, opportunity screening, and financial analyses
- Complete a Corporate Development Summer Project and cross-functional Summer Project
- Participate in deal pipeline reviews, diligence sessions, and strategic discussions with Commercial, R&D, and Legal functions to gain exposure to cross-functional dynamics of Corporate Development
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in an accredited college or university as a sophomore or junior
- Pursuing a degree in life sciences (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, or a related field) or demonstrated interest in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry through coursework or leadership activities
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred; however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration
- Strong preference to be based in New York City or New York Metro Area with ability to commute to New York City at least once weekly
- Interest in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred; however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration
- Background in finance and/or financial modeling skills a plus
