Job Description
Summary: Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. As Via's People Operations Associate, you'll be the operational backbone of Via's People function, building the HR infrastructure for new markets and ensuring a successful employee experience aligned with Via's mission.
Responsibilities:
- Own the Launch Playbook end-to-end: HR setup, onboarding infrastructure, and local compliance for every new market Via enters
- Travel to launch sites to provide on-the-ground HR support during new market go-lives
- Drive compliance and policy administration across all states where Via operates
- Manage corporate employee onboarding and offboarding mechanics, keeping the machine running cleanly as Via scales
- Own the full learning experience for Field teams: onboarding curriculum, 30/60/90-day check-in infrastructure, and manager touchpoint design
- Coordinate and execute L&D programming end-to-end - scheduling, vendor management, participant communications, and feedback loops
- Support rollout of manager development programs, tracking completion and translating feedback into iteration
- Build and maintain Via's internal resource library: playbooks, guides, templates, and training materials that scale knowledge across the org
- Maintain the L&D calendar and ensure training is integrated across performance cycles, launch waves, and onboarding cohorts
- Support cross-functional People projects in partnership with the broader team
- Build out traditional HRBP operations, with a sharp eye toward automation - learning the fundamentals while identifying where AI and tooling can eliminate manual work at scale
Required Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a closely related field
- Experience with multi-state compliance or new market launches is a plus
- Detail-oriented and organized without being rigid
- Strong communicator who can earn trust quickly
- Ability to create processes from nothing and make them stick
- Energized by new markets and new challenges
- Ability to manage a project plan
- Great judgment, attention to detail, and a focus on process
