Job Description
Summary: Veterans United Insurance is dedicated to helping Veterans and military families achieve homeownership. As a Credit Consultant, you will assist Veteran borrowers in improving their credit profiles and guiding them towards suitable mortgage loans while providing support and encouragement throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Stay in touch with clients regularly, checking in on their progress and making sure they always feel supported. Proactively reach out with updates and respond quickly to emails and calls
- Help borrowers take control of their finances by recommending smart debt management strategies that fit their goals
- Walk clients through their credit reports, especially those who aren’t quite ready for financing yet, and help them see a clear path forward
- Keep an eye on changing credit and underwriting guidelines so we can always offer the best advice and set realistic improvement goals
- Stay sharp on lender guidelines and the ins and outs of credit rebuilding, so you’re always ready to guide clients toward success
- Pitching in wherever needed to help foster a supportive and collaborative team culture
Required Qualifications:
- Background in finance, sales, or customer service
- Translatable skills and relevant expertise
- NMLS licensed (can be obtained when starting the role)
- Ability to build strong relationships through transparency and trust
- Fiercely competitive and collaborative
- Ability to adapt to change and stay focused
- Intrinsic ability to connect with others through high energy, positive vibes, and confidence

- Natural at finding the right words to engage and encourage customers
