Job Description
Summary: VeSync is a portfolio company focused on health & wellness products, seeking a Product Design Engineering Co-op to support their Product Innovation Team. The role involves contributing to prototype development, communicating complex engineering concepts, and guiding design solutions based on consumer insights.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to building proof-of-concept rigs with a combination of existing own brand components together with new 3D printed or CNC parts, then build custom micro-controller PCBA’s or Arduino controllers to bring it all together that allows cross-functional teams to provide buy-in early to determine suitability on a product roadmap before moving into the internal development process
- You will be a strong and convincing communicator within the product innovation team, contributing to making presentations with clean data that demystifies complex engineering studies in an easy-to-understand language for both the Head of Product Innovation, as well as leadership in the US and China
- You support guiding our design solutions by contributing to the research that goes into forming a complete picture of consumer needs and how new products will address these needs and create a delightful experience
- You will bring passion, creativity and drive to support a newly created team in product innovation across all of our consumer brands
Required Qualifications:
- Current student in a relevant Engineering discipline, pursuing a bachelor's or master's program
- Strong grasp of mechanical engineering, physics and fundamentals like thermodynamics, mechanics and fluids
- Must have experience in Solidworks designing parts and assemblies for prototyping
- Some working knowledge of electrical and electronic controls
- Must have hands-on experience in building and testing prototypes
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and 3D printing techniques
- Willing to do research on consumer needs and market trends in relevant product categories
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to listen carefully, ask questions, then understand sometimes complex issues and put forward a point-of-view on next steps is critical for success in this role
- Passionate about consumer products and innovation
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSWA/CSWP preferred
- Knowledge of robotics, microcontrollers and IDEs is preferred
