Job Description
Summary: Vestwell is a financial technology company powering the new savings economy, and they are seeking a Summer Intern for their Tech team. Interns will gain hands-on experience by contributing to AI-powered solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams on real projects.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to AI-powered feature development across the engineering stack
- Build and evaluate LLM-based workflows and integrations
- Write, test, and review code in Python, TypeScript, or a similar backend language
- Participate in daily stand-ups and collaborate within an agile team environment
- Document technical work and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications:
- Rising or current seniors, or recent graduates (including boot camps or similar programs)
- Based in or able to work in a hybrid capacity in New York City, Austin, or King of Prussia
- Available for the full 10-week program (June 8 to August 10, 2026)
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, TypeScript, or similar)
- Foundational understanding of software development principles and SDLC
- Familiarity with version control (Git)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Collaborative, proactive, and coachable working style
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the full duration of the internship without employer sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Asana, Jira, Notion, Monday.com)
- Exposure to AI tools or workflow automation platforms (e.g. Claude Cowork)
- Prior internship, work, or relevant project experience
- Knowledge of financial services, fintech, or retirement industry concepts
- Hands-on experience with LLMs or AI frameworks (e.g. LangChain, OpenAI APIs)
- Prior internship or project experience in software engineering
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
