What you’ll be doing...
We are seeking a Director, Systems & Core Connectivity (Broadband Fiber/FWA) within the newly structured Build & Execute strategic pillar. This role represents a critical modification and elevation to support the Systems & Core Connectivity function for Broadband Products, within the Product & Revenue organization.
This is a newly created people leadership role. You will direct the engineering, development, and integration of systems and core connectivity solutions across Verizon’s Fiber and FWA broadband networks, own and scale the Broadband Proactive Care telemetry program and provide strategic oversight to Fiber & Copper Planning and VHI Strategic Initiatives, optimizing capital investment and fiber capacity deployments.
What we’re looking for...
You are a technical leader who bridges the gap between complex network engineering and world-class customer experiences. You understand that network performance is the foundation of customer trust, and you are passionate about building scalable, automated systems that proactively resolve network issues before they impact the user. You have a deep understanding of broadband access technologies (fiber, copper, 5G wireless) and excel at directing high-performing engineering and planning teams. You thrive on solving complex problems, managing capital investment strategies, and driving operational agility across a matrixed environment.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Ten or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in telecommunications engineering, network operations, or managing complex systems integration programs.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Advanced Degree: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or an MBA.
Automated Operations & Proactive Care: Proven experience building or scaling automated customer experience (CX) platforms, predictive analytics, or network telemetry systems to reduce churn.
Strategic Network Planning: Solid track record in capital investment optimization, fiber/copper capacity planning, or Fios/FWA technology roadmaps.
Technical Leadership: Proven ability to direct, motivate, and scale a large, multi-disciplinary engineering and planning team, including senior managers and technical experts.
Standards & Integration: In-depth knowledge of broadband industry standards, core network architectures, and cross-platform systems integration.
Agile Delivery: Deep familiarity with agile software development and systems engineering methodologies to accelerate product feature delivery.
If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
