Service Technician Location: USA - GA - Tampa, FL Job Purpose: Our Equipment Service Technician will be responsible for installing and repairing worn or defective machinery or equipment at customer sites following blueprints, manufacturer’s instructions and utilizes knowledge of mechanical hydraulic and electrical machinery. This position will also operate machines through trial runs to ensure that quality and rate of production meet specifications. Job Responsibilities: ● Perform repair, maintenance and start up on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealing, case erectors, label printer/applicators, strapping equipment and assorted products at customer and Veritiv company sites. ● Support systems integration with customers, manufacturers, suppliers and other service personnel involving machine problems and/or turn-key systems. ● Perform a variety of sophisticated electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulics and electro-mechanical tests, repair and maintenance on equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts to ensure the equipment functions according to the manufacturer’s specifications. ● Conduct setup calibration, testing, mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting of circuits, components and instruments using moderately complex blueprints and electrical schematics. Provide subject matter expertise, trainings and product demonstrations of Veritiv packaging systems and related equipment if needed. ● Provide training and is SME to other members of the team. ● Complete field service work orders including billing of travel, labor hours, parts and other related items in a timely and accurate manner. ● Generate quotes and estimates for preventative and planned maintenance of machines. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications: This application is required for system and compliance purposes only. This role is not being competitively filled. ● Strong knowledge of electrical schematics. electrical symbols and how power flows through circuitry. ● Lantech Level 3 or 4, Shanklin F and Omni Level RS Logic 500 or 5000 training or certification, required. ● Must have certifications from manufacturer trainings on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, label printers and strapping related products. Work Experience: ● 10-15 years of related job experience. ● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. ● Ability to work quickly and efficiently. ● A through understanding of government regulations (DOT, OSHA, HazMat, etc.). ● Basic experience of simple office/operational systems. ● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. ● Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges. ● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. ● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful). ● Strong planning and organization skills are required. Education: ● High School Diploma/GED Preferred The requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. ● Must lift and handle parts up to 75 pounds. ● Must work in industrial environments, including working on ladders and lifts at high elevation, as well as low elevations such as underneath equipment. ● Must work in a variety of settings, including fast-paced industrial and food production environments.
