Position Summary
• Immediate openings for two Paralegals.
• Reports to unit Supervising Attorney and attorneys.
• Responsible for assisting attorneys and managing case files.
• Must work independently with professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Make calls to clients, the County, and opposing parties.
• Respond to program queries.
• Schedule appointments.
• Review court dockets for current cases.
• Conduct background and eviction history searches.
• Research rental properties and landlord ownership.
• Conduct intake interviews.
• Gather client financial information (tax returns, pay stubs, benefits) and update files.
• Prepare basic budgets and intake summaries.
• Draft correspondence and legal documents.
• Deliver and file documents as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Perform legal research.
• Interview clients and document information.
• Proficient in writing and communication.
• Prioritize work activities effectively.
• Basic computer skills.
• Compassionate client interaction.
• Follow attorney directions.
• Teamwork and cooperation.
• Dependability with prompt and regular availability.
Education & Experience
• Paralegal Certificate or equivalent on-the-job experience.
