Job Description:

Velocity Investments is a specialized financial services firm that focuses on acquiring and managing distressed receivables. This position will report to the CIO and will work closely with the business operations group to automate routine tasks and capture data as required by the business. Telecommuting allowed from anywhere within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• report to the Chief Information Officer and work closely with the business operations group to automate routine tasks and capture data as required by the business
• develop data pipelines to automate the process of extracting data from its source, making needed transformations, and loading it to its destination
• responsible for data engineering, data monitoring, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing and facilitating data analytics
• design and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery and automating manual processes
• assemble large complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements; design and build comprehensive data warehouse systems for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using SQL technologies
• build analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency
• support data infrastructure needs and provide trouble shooting support for data warehouses and data-related technical issues; create processes and frameworks that support data transformation workload management, data structures, dependency, and metadata.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field
• 24 months experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar position.
