Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced EDI Specialist to join our pharmaceutical supply chain services team. The role supports a managed services engagement with a major North American pharmaceutical manufacturer. You will take full ownership of EDI onboarding, configuration, testing, and ongoing operational support for a network of downstream customers in the US market.
The client's EDI architecture may involve IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, SAP EDI, or a combination of both. You must be capable of assessing and working across these platforms. This is an end-to-end delivery role with direct communication with US-based client stakeholders and trading partners.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct an EDI architecture assessment in Phase 1 to document the client's current EDI platform, existing configurations, active trading partner connections, and the appropriate onboarding approach for new Cumberland customers.
- Onboard all downstream customers for EDI connectivity. Complete setup per customer includes trading partner profile, communication channel configuration (AS2, SFTP, HTTP/S), EDI map configuration, end-to-end testing, and production go-live coordination.
- Develop and configure EDI transaction maps per customer across applicable transaction sets: Purchase Order (850), PO Acknowledgement (855), Advance Ship Notice (856), Invoice (810), Functional Acknowledgement (997/824). Handle custom field requirements and transformations where needed.
- Execute inbound and outbound transaction testing per customer in the test environment. Validate acknowledgements, handle errors, retest after fixes, and sign off each connection before production promotion.
- Monitor EDI pipelines for all active connections post go-live. Identify and resolve failed transmissions, map errors, acknowledgement failures, and connection drops. Manage error queues and reprocess transactions. Proactively flag issues before trading partners escalate.
- Communicate directly with US-based trading partner EDI contacts and coordinators for onboarding, testing, go-live scheduling, and post-go-live support.
- Manage AS2 digital certificate renewals and SFTP credential rotations for all active connections.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on EDI experience with at least 2 years on IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
- Proven experience configuring trading partner profiles, AS2/SFTP/HTTP communication channels, and EDI maps in IBM Sterling.
- Strong knowledge of core pharma and distribution EDI transaction sets: 850, 855, 856, 810, 997, 824.
- Experience running end-to-end EDI connectivity tests and managing production go-live with external trading partners.
- Familiarity with AS2 digital certificate management and renewal processes.
- Experience with EDI error queue monitoring and exception resolution.
- Strong written and spoken English for direct client and trading partner communication.
GOOD TO HAVE
- SAP EDI experience (IDoc, ALE, EDI subsystem configuration).
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare supply chain industry.
- Familiarity with IBM Sterling GPM (Graphical Process Modeler) and BPML business process development.
- Experience with VAN (Value Added Network) connectivity in addition to direct AS2 and SFTP.
- Exposure to serialization or traceability data in ASN (856) transactions.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
Work from Home or Hybrid, based in Hyderabad. US EST time zone coverage is mandatory for this role (approximately 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM IST). Candidates not willing to work these hours should not apply.
