Summary: Vantage Point Solutions is a customer-focused, technology-driven engineering and consulting firm. They are seeking a highly motivated student for a Network Engineer & Cybersecurity Intern position to gain hands-on experience in network infrastructure security and efficiency. Responsibilities: - Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices - Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues and resolving end-user problems - Learn and implement basic network security best practices, including intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and access control lists (ACLs) - Assist in the development and implementation of network security policies and procedures - Conduct basic network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing - Research and learn about emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities - Assist with network documentation and maintenance of network diagrams - Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on network-related topics - Assist with special projects as assigned Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field - Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, OSI model, and network protocols - Familiarity with common networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls) - Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, such as threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Required Skills: Networking fundamentals, Cybersecurity concepts Important Skills: Networking devices, Analytical skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Teamwork Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer
