Summary: Vanguard is a global leader in investment management, and they are seeking forward-thinking individuals to join their Innovation and AI/ML Research team. The role involves supporting investment management businesses by driving the innovation process through research and prototyping, with a focus on applying AI and machine learning to enhance investment performance. Responsibilities: - Work closely with portfolio managers and trading desks to understand their business goals, translate those into research and prototyping requirements, refine solutions based on business feedback - Use statistical and AI/machine learning applications to uncover insights into the investment landscape - Develops understanding of Vanguard’s investment management processes across businesses and regions, as well as data and analytics underpinning those activities - Collaborate with PMs/traders to design and develop systematic trading strategies and decision-making processes - Drive experimentation and prototyping in generative AI and agentic workflow solutions that transform how the desk conducts research, portfolio management and trading - Collaborate with data engineers to aid in development of data architecture, data treatment, and normalization - Proactively explore and introduce innovative approaches and emerging technologies - Communicate complex ideas and solutions effectively to IMG stakeholders through presentations, data visualizations, demos and receive buy-in - Develops and maintain knowledge of financial markets, securities, and general investment themes, and new technologies in order to bring an informed perspective to current financial technology landscape Required Qualifications: - An undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline and currently pursuing a master's degree - Strong desire to gain superior knowledge of investments (i.e., equities, fixed income, alternative investment strategies, etc.) - Ability to work with large data sets, both structured and unstructured, and emerging data sources - Ability to deal with competing priorities and exacting expectations - Exceptional conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills, proven ability to build/execute on ideas - Must be able to work in a collaborative and occasionally fast paced/high pressure environment - Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to think strategically - Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and professional presence Required Skills: Quantitative discipline, Investment knowledge, Data analysis, Structured, unstructured data handling, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, Natural language processing, Statistical analysis, Strategic thinking Benefits: Vanguard is offering visa sponsorship for this position.
