Job Description
Performance & Delivery
- Assist the Commercial Advisor in the breakdown of financial targets down to site work areas.
- Provide operational support to the budgeting and forecasting process on site, collating inputs and supplying analyses on behalf of the Commercial Advisor and Senior Specialist Commercial.
- Draft effective financial reports & analyses, in line with Valterra standards.
- Monitor site financial performance, highlighting deviations to Commercial Advisor & Senior Specialist Commercial.
- Supply data analyses & insights for Commercial Advisor & Senior Specialist Commercial discussions with disciplines.
- Prepare business cases and sensitivity analyses for improvement opportunities.
- Support quantification of financial impact of improvement measures.
- Support implementation of commercial improvement initiatives (e.g., dashboard roll-out).
- Feedback improvement needs and ideas to the Commercial Advisor.
- Process month-end JV's and accruals.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee the purchase requisition process in the Accounts department.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance.

- Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment.

Compliance
- Support Ensure discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements, Valterra standards, and CA&SI governance.
Site Performance Improvement
- Supply data analyses & insights for Com. Finance Specialist discussions with disciplines.
- Prepare business cases and sensitivity analyses for improvement opportunities.
- Support quantification of financial impact of improvement measures.
This role is in the Finance Department at a C4 level reporting to the Commercial Advisor.
Qualifications
- Matric/ Grade 12
- Tertiary qualifications within Business Accounting, Finance, Economics
- Postgraduate within Business Accounting, Finance, Economics advantageous
- Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s license
Technical Skills
- At least 2 years’ experience in the Accounting field
- Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
- Monitoring of benchmarks and identification of performance gaps
- Data collection and management
- Application of management accounting processes
- Data collection, analysis, and management for decision-making
