Finance Intern – FP&A at Valmont Industries, Inc. in Omaha NE

Summary: Valmont Industries, Inc. is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. They are seeking a Finance Intern – FP&A who will perform planning, analysis, and reporting for an assigned financial area, assisting in financial research projects and analysis of business operations. Responsibilities: - This position will report to the Senior Manager, FP&A & NA Finance Business Partner and will have no direct or indirect reports - Flexible schedule however must be able to work 2+ days per week - Substantial work with building standard reporting and dashboards leveraging visualization - Perform research tasks with a view to gather data pertaining to company processes and key indicators - Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover business information - Evaluate pertinent data by performing a variety of task analysis and business processes - Work with key business group leaders to identify key performance indicators - Implement modifications to existing workflow processes to improve systems - Utilize resources to download and analyze data and metrics, identifying trends for reporting - Provide support for internal and external presentations - Make recommendations and extract insights - Solve problems with guidance from business leaders - Collaborate with subject matter experts within our finance, business and data teams - Take on ad hoc projects and cultivate your own ideas - Help optimize and assist development of current projects - Other projects and duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or progress towards Bachelor's Degree in FinTech, Accounting, Finance or related field with an anticipated graduation within 18 months (Junior or Senior status) - GPA: 3.0 or above - Technical curiosity: interest in learning data analytics and presentation tools such as Power BI; ability to remain current on analysis tools and trends to drive competitive advantage - Ability to communicate complex insights to a general audience - Enthusiasm to learn and apply data science concepts and leverage technology to make decisions - Demonstrates understanding of and alignment to our core values of: integrity, continuous improvement, passion and delivering results - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, PowerBI, Excel, Word and Outlook) - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a matrixed team Preferred Qualifications: - Actively pursuing an MBA, Graduate degree in a finance-related field and/or advanced analytics degree a plus - Previous work experience in accounting or finance - Proficiency with PowerBI or other specific data tools - Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure and/or supply chain industries Required Skills: Financial planning and analysis, Data analytics, Power BI, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Accounting, Finance, work autonomously, work as part of a matrixed team Benefits: Healthcare (medical, prescription drugs, dental and vision), 401k retirement plan with company match, Paid time off, Employer paid life insurance, Employer paid short-term and long-term disability including maternity leave, Work Life Support, Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,250 per year, Voluntary programs like tobacco cessation, Type 2 diabetes reversal, one-on-one health coaching, mortgage services and more
