Quality Assurance Coordinator
Who we are:
UTMC, a family-owned 100 plus year-old company, is the long-term industry leader in refrigerated semi-trailers and North America’s fourth largest semi-trailer manufacturer with six manufacturing factories – five in various states within the United States and one in Mexico -- and a research and development facility in California. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator. This is an on-site position based at UTMC's headquarters in the City of Industry, CA and requires travel for approximately two weeks each month.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategically plan, execute, and document quality audits, including the preparation of detailed findings and recommendations
• Maintain Department Manuals
• Coordinate with vendors and factories
• Monitor production compliance procedures.
• Identify nonconformance items and resolve issues.
• Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer standards.
• Ensure the reliability and consistency of production through monitoring processes and checking final product.
Requirements:
• Proficient in both oral and written communication (BILINGUAL in Spanish a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering or related field, a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude a plus
• Must be comfortable reading drawings.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills required. Ability to create, maintain, analyze, and report data using complex spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting tools. Proficient in Word and PowerPoint
• Industry expertise preferred.
• Auditing experience a plus
• Understanding of LEAN-Six Sigma methodology a plus
• Familiar with the use and implementation of SPC a plus
• Working knowledge of Calibration System, Receiving Inspection, Process inspection and Training a plus
• Must always be comfortable wearing safety attire (boots, glasses, helmet etc.)
• REQUIRED to travel two weeks per month to our factories located in Virginia, Utah, Arkansas, Alabama & Piedras Negras Mexico
• Work related activities in a production environment required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Regularly exercises discretion and the ability to prioritize workload.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
Lean Six Sigma certification a plus but not required.

The ability to work in confined, restricted, or tight spaces is required. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing between 10 and 30 pounds and may be required to move heavier items with appropriate equipment or assistance. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect equipment and identify potential issues. The employee may also be exposed to varying environmental and weather conditions while working indoors and outdoors.

Compensation
Salary Range: $72,385 to $79,230 annually
