Summary: Utah State University is seeking an Extension Agricultural Environmental Quality Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting applied research that benefits communities across Utah. The intern will work with Extension Specialists to contribute to projects addressing current challenges while building skills in data collection, analysis, and research communication. Responsibilities: - Assist with the planning, resource, and demonstration development for a composting workshop for urban and small farm owners - Help conduct the demonstrations at the workshop - Develop videos, factsheets, and other informational materials on composting, manure management, and nutrient cycling for agricultural producers and hobby farms - Assist with a training event for livestock owners highlighting water quality issues in agriculture, and best practices that can be utilized - Summarize and present research data in layman’s terms from a study examining nutrient cycling under various soil health practices - Help develop informational materials on the use of biosolids, and potential PFAS concerns, in an agricultural setting Required Qualifications: - Be an undergraduate student - Have an interest in the Extension program - Be dependable Preferred Qualifications: - Farm background preferred Required Skills: Agricultural knowledge, Composting, Manure management, Nutrient cycling, Water quality in agriculture, Research data summarization, Informational material development, Dependability
