JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing and overseeing core accounting functions for USA Industries and its subsidiary, RMP. This role ensures accurate, timely financial transaction processing, supports month‑end and year‑end close activities, maintains general ledger integrity, and manages cash‑related workflows. The Senior Accountant will also perform full‑cycle bookkeeping for RMP, including AP, AR, cash management, collections, and GL maintenance.
This position serves as a senior member of the accounting team and may assume additional accounting responsibilities as needed to support departmental operations and ensure continuity of key accounting functions. Although not a supervisory role, the Senior Accountant provides guidance, support, and technical expertise to junior accounting personnel.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

General Accounting (USAI)
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities.
- Perform account reconciliations including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Support audits and external reporting requirements.
Subsidiary Accounting (RMP)
- Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping: AP, AR, GL, cash management, collections.
- Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and expense transactions.
- Monitor subsidiary cash flow and prepare cash activity summaries.
- Maintain subsidiary financial records in accordance with USAI standards.
- Coordinate with RMP operational personnel to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
Cash Management
- Prepare daily cash activity reports and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash balances and recommend transfers as needed.
- Support treasury‑related tasks and banking communications.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, match POs, and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate customer invoices, apply payments, and manage aging schedules.
- Support collections efforts with professionalism and tact.
Cross‑Training & Coverage
- Learn and be able to perform all duties of the Accountant.
- Serve as primary backup for the Accountant role, providing full coverage when required and ongoing support as needed.
- Systems & Process Support
- Work within Sage 50, Epicor, and other accounting/ERP systems.
- Identify process exceptions and escalate appropriately.
- Maintain documentation of accounting procedures and workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Work Experience
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple entities or subsidiaries strongly preferred.
- Experience with Sage 50, Epicor, or similar ERP/accounting systems is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong foundational accounting knowledge and numerical accuracy.

- Effective communication skills with vendors, internal approvers, and operational staff.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, TEAMS, and general business software.
- Reliable, diligent, coachable, and comfortable working under managerial guidance.
- Ability to work independently and provide support to junior accounting staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; strong listening skills.
- Visual acuity to process reports and financial data.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
- Office located on second floor; must be able to climb stairs daily.
