Summary: US Cargo Systems is offering a Mechanical Design Engineering Internship that aims to provide hands-on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and testing. The intern will work closely with the engineering team to support ongoing projects and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. Responsibilities: - Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems - Create and modify CAD models using software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD - Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation - Support the fabrication and assembly of prototypes - Conduct tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical components - Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements - Work closely with the engineering team to understand project requirements and objectives - Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress - Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management - Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and project milestones - Prepare technical reports and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program or related field - Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities - Basic understanding of prototyping and testing methodologies - To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State Required Skills: Mechanical Design, CAD software, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Prototyping, Testing, Analytical skills
