Financial Analyst Intern at URUS Group in Sioux Center, IA

Summary: Trans Ova Genetics, a member of the URUS Group, is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to support the FP&A team during a summer internship focused on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. The role involves evaluating financial results, analyzing business drivers, and contributing to decision-making insights, culminating in a capstone project and presentation. Responsibilities: - TOG Finance project that will culminate in a presentation to leaders at the end of the internship - Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and monthly performance review activities - Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis - Build and maintain Excel models, dashboards, and financial reports - Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and insights - Collaborate with and observe other departments, including: AP, AR, etc - Assist with invoice/expense report review and account reconciliations as needed - Perform data entry and data validation to ensure accuracy of financial information - Support budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis - Maintain organized financial documentation - Provide administrative and analytical support to the FP&A and Accounting teams Required Qualifications: - Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Agribusiness, Economics, or a related field - Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis; proficiency in Word and basic PowerPoint - Ability to interpret, analyze, and work accurately with financial, operational, and large data sets - Strong attention to detail with excellent organization and time management skills - Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to work well in a team environment - Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take initiative; capable of handling basic office tasks and detailed work Required Skills: Financial analysis, Budgeting, forecasting, Microsoft Excel Important Skills: Data analysis Nice-to-Have Skills: Self-motivated
