Job Description
Summary: Upbound Group, Inc. is a technology and data-driven leader in accessible financial solutions. The UX Design Intern will collaborate with the Product Management team to design and launch innovative solutions, gaining hands-on experience in UX design and research.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and apply UX design best practices while contributing to real product work
- Participate in the full design process—from understanding problems and user needs to designing, testing, and refining solutions
- Review customer research, interviews, usability testing, and data to identify user needs, behaviors, and pain points
- Approach design problems with a customer-first mindset, always looking for opportunities to improve the user experience
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, technical constraints, and different perspectives
- Create quick design concepts and prototypes to explore ideas and gather feedback early
- Share work with the design team through design reviews, critiques, and group discussions
- Learn how design work is documented and communicated to engineering and product partners
- Gain exposure to how designs move from concept to build by working alongside engineers
- Ask questions, seek feedback, and grow design skills through mentorship and collaboration
- Participate in Professional Development Workshops focused on growing your product management and leadership skills
- Engage in Cross-Departmental Networking with teams such as product management, engineering, and marketing
- Receive personalized guidance and career development from experienced UX designers through Mentorship Opportunities
- Participate in Corporate Events and Initiatives, including team-building activities and volunteer opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- Collaborate closely with the Product Management team
- Learn and apply UX design best practices while contributing to real product work
- Participate in the full design process—from understanding problems and user needs to designing, testing, and refining solutions
