Job Description
Summary: Unusual Machines is a U.S.-based drone and drone parts company focused on the small and First-Person View (FPV) segments of the drone market. They are seeking a Headset Technician to assemble, inspect, and prepare FPV headset components used in real-world drone operations while ensuring high standards of quality and precision.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble FPV headset components according to documented work instructions
- Perform repetitive, hands-on assembly tasks with precision and consistency
- Inspect individual parts and finished products to identify defects or quality issues
- Use hand tools and basic electronic testing equipment
- Meet daily production schedules and output targets
- Accurately document completed work, scrap, and rework
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
- Escalate quality concerns or equipment issues to supervisors promptly
- Follow all safety, quality, and company policies at all times
- Deliver high-quality FPV headset assemblies that support real-world drone operations
- Take ownership of workmanship and quality at your workstation—no hand-offs, no excuses
- Support production efficiency by staying focused, reliable, and output-driven
- Help prevent defects and rework by catching issues early and speaking up
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Adapt quickly to production changes, updated instructions, or shifting priorities
- Represent American manufacturing standards through consistency and attention to detail
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to perform detailed, repetitive tasks
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to follow written and visual instructions
- Basic math skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electronics or manufacturing assembly experience
- Experience with small components or soldering
- Familiarity with production environments
- Photonics course certificates/degree programs and or enrollment preferred
