Job Summary
The Enterprise Data Product Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, and scaling data products that power analytics, operational reporting, and enterprise decision making. This role sits at the intersection of business, data engineering, and product management, driving the evolution of our enterprise data platform and ensuring that high-quality, governed data is available to support key functions across the organization.
You will develop a deep understanding of our business model, operational processes, and data ecosystem, and use that knowledge to build products that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and unlock self-service insights for stakeholders. You will partner closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, architects, and functional leaders across leasing, marketing, maintenance, finance, legal, compliance, investments, and investor relations.
The Enterprise Data Product Manager ensures we deliver the right data product at the right time, balancing cost, risk, speed, and long-term scalability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Roadmapping
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Product to develop and maintain product roadmaps for enterprise data products aligned to the approved data strategy.
- Define the vision, outcomes, and success metrics for new data capabilities and improve existing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting, enhance data quality, reduce operational friction, and expand self-service analytics.
Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with business partners and senior leaders across all functional areas.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
Execution and Delivery
- Build and prioritize product backlogs using customer research, data insights, and engineering constraints.
- Work closely with data engineering and analytics engineering to understand system integrations, data models, ETL and ELT pipelines, and semantic layers.
- Manage scope, risks, and delivery tradeoffs while maintaining transparency with stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement by defining MVPs, focusing on key milestones, and executing fast-follow releases.
- Validate completed stories, prepare the backlog for upcoming sprints, and lead product review sessions.
Technical Understanding and Data Fluency
- Develop strong working knowledge of the enterprise data architecture, data domains, and operational systems impacted by new product work.
- Understand modern data stack components such as Snowflake, dbt, orchestration tools, and API integration patterns, and how they support scalable data products.
- Create wireframes, dashboard layouts, data flow concepts, or mock reports to support solution design.
- Partner with legal, risk, and security teams to ensure compliance and data governance requirements are met.
Lifecycle Management
- Monitor product performance, user engagement, and data quality, and proactively identify enhancements or decommissioning opportunities.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical and business issues.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2 or more years of product management or software development experience, ideally supporting data, analytics, or platform products.
- Experience with Data and Analytics, data engineering workflows, or modern data platforms preferred.
- Experience in real estate, financial operations, or technology industries is a plus.
Skills and Specialized Knowledge
- Familiarity with modern data warehouse and analytics stacks such as Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, or Airflow.
- Understanding of ETL and ELT patterns, data modeling concepts, and API or integration workflows.
- Ability to read or write basic SQL or Python preferred.
- Strong business and technical acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, clear language.
- Agile and Scrum experience and comfort leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to negotiate priorities, manage expectations, and influence without authority.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance user empathy with business impact.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams and drive alignment in complex environments.
- High ownership, adaptability, and willingness to work through ambiguity.
